Disclusion Time Reduction Therapy
Computer Guided TMD Therapy for Eugene, Oregon, and Beyond
Dr. Sutter cares first and foremost about improving the wellbeing and quality of life of his patients. To do that, Dr Sutter was personally trained and certified clinically by Dr Robert Kerstein the pioneer of DTR therapy, in office using TekScan on real cases. He has also pursued advanced training at some of dentistry’s most organizations, including the Las Vegas Institute, the Piper Education and Research Center and is Perfect Bite Doctor certified.
Our treatment approach is simple: to be as comprehensive as possible while also providing patients with the most conservative treatment possible. That’s why we offer a new and exciting form of therapy known as Disclusion Time Reduction therapy. This special, computer-guided treatment for TMD has proven to be much faster and more permanent than appliance-based treatments.
The Benefits of Disclusion Time Reduction Therapy
Disclusion Time Reduction therapy uses computerized occlusal analysis technology and eletromyography (EMGs) instead of nightguards, NTIs, or even Botox injections. This technology allows patients to achieve results that virtually eliminate the need for other treatment options–even for patients who grind their teeth.
Dr. Sutter has been studying occlusion (a dental term for how our bite comes together) since starting his private practice in 2008. With the T-scan system, Dr. Sutter can see very small occlusal problems, leading to a more accurate diagnosis and treatment.
How Long Does Treatment Last?
Treatment time with Disclusion Time Reduction is usually one to three visits, with results lasting years, in most cases, as quoted by a nine year follow-up study. In fact, a recent study has shown that Disclusion Time Reduction provides patients with a more comfortable life, because there's no need for splints, a soft food diet, or physical therapy. What's more, long term use of pain medication was reduced by over 90%.
